ACT builder licence search — Access Canberra register
Building licences in the ACT are issued by Access Canberra on behalf of the ACT Government. Use the official construction licence register below to check whether a builder holds a valid current licence.
The register opens in a new tab so you can return here easily.
What the register won't show you
A licence search confirms a builder met minimum requirements at a point in time. It tells you nothing about their financial position, court history, prior disputes, or how they treat clients when things go wrong.
Two strong references. Licence current and valid.
Three jobs last year ended in the courts. Truck repossessed. Two defaults on equipment leases. No tax return filed in two years. Three building companies in liquidation. Subcontractors refusing to work with them.
